Safety and maintenance of lithium batteries

Despite its mature technology, lithium battery is essentially a chemical energy package, and there are potential safety hazards (such as swelling and fire) if used improperly. Following the following principles can make the battery safer and more durable:

Avoid extreme environments:

High temperature strictly prohibited: Do not expose the device to direct sunlight for extended periods or place it in high-temperature environments (such as inside a car in summer). High temperature is the "number one killer" of battery aging and safety accidents.

Avoid charging at low temperatures: Charging in a low-temperature environment below 0℃ may lead to the precipitation of lithium metal (lithium deposition), which can pierce the separator and cause a short circuit.

Correct charging and discharging:

Charge and discharge shallowly: Try to keep the battery charge between 20% and 80%, avoiding using it until it automatically shuts down (0%) or fully charging it to 100% every time. This is beneficial for extending the battery life.

Use original charger: Poor-quality chargers may cause overcharging, unstable voltage, and damage to the battery.

Pay attention to physical damage:

Avoid hitting, puncturing, or squeezing the battery. If the battery bulges, please stop using it immediately and dispose of it properly.

Long-term storage:

If the device is not to be used for an extended period, please charge it to approximately 50% and store it. Regularly check and recharge it, for example, every six months.
